Having thoroughly enjoyed the Cowboy's After Dark series, I was looking forward to reading this author's foray into Hollywood. Watching the trailer put images of the characters in my head before I even started. That somehow made the characters real before I even started reading. Loved the trailer. Oiy!! The story is, as the title suggests, about a spoiled rich kid in Hollywood who actually craves discipline.When Kylie finishes college, she believes she should immediately be involved in the business end of movie product. That's where she runs directly into Zach, an experienced executive at a movie company. The meeting was arranged by her father who is worried about what his daughter is doing. He's hoping Zach can keep an eye on her if she works there. Zach doesn't want to meet with her, but has to (I loved this scene almost as much as the one in the first chapter when they interact for the first time). The disciplined, in control, important man, interviewing the entitled, spoiled Kylie who has attitude to burn, is just aching to go out with him. It crackles, in fact this whole book crackles.
The book is hot, and just like all Maggie Carpenter's novels, the characters are believable and the dialogue pops. I really enjoyed peeking behind the doors of show biz. I think she must have been involved there at one time, because the book radiates authenticity. Hot, hot, hot and another page turner.

I am a big fan of this author, and when I saw this book I picked it up right away. Finally got to read it over the weekend. I couldn't put it down. It was really sexy, the Hollywood brat has a ton of personality, and she is totally tempted by the hero's offer to spank her, but is too proud to say so. She finally finds herself alone with him, and you can imagine what happens. Actually, this first time between them is unusual, and I think the location must be real because the hotel mentioned does exist (I looked it up online). Regardless, it was very sexy and the book just got better and better as it went along. The romance is hot, the story takes an unexpected exciting turn, and it all works. Great spanking and sensuous steamy sex.
Great story. Loved how this book explored the meeting of needs through friendship as well as love. It explored how disciplinary needs can be met as a non sexual relationship without avoiding the arousal, but unless love is involved something is missing. Lucky for the mismatched couples at the start Ms Carpenter weaves a well developed plot that allows them all to find true love and satisfaction. A sexy, sweet tale of Hollywood and its corrupt as well as creative workings. Ms Carpenter's insider knowledge is put to good use to create a fascinating and entertaining story. Don't miss it!
I was attracted to the movie because spanking is one of my fetishes, except in mine, one whack is experienced by whoever loses in my game, including me. All in all, I liked the movie because it depicted the life of someone in the movie or TV business in LA.
This isn't a 29 page booklet. It's a real book with a plot and real characters. And the plot and the characters are obviously taken directly from Maggie Carpenter's real-life experience. You can tell from this book and all the others that she has written that she writes about what she knows and knows about what she writes. While I'm sure it's meant as entertainment, it's practically a user-guide if you're interested in this lifestyle. Highy recommended.
I've been a follower of this author's books for a while, and she never disappoints me. I love her British Doms, and her cowboy alpha males are always soooo alpha, but the Dominant in this book might be my favorite so far. He's very cool. The way he handles the show biz brat is brilliant. She's not just feisty, she's used to getting her own way, and he's a man who says no and means it. The first time he warms her butt is amazing. A great scene, but I won't say anything more because I don't want to give anything away. Apparently this is the first book of a series, and if the ones that follow are anything like this, I'll be first in line. If you like light BDSM, spanking and romance, this is the book for you.
I love Maggie Carpenter books and this one is another winner. First of all its a full length novel with a wonderful storyline that goes into the feelings and emotions of the main characters Kylie and Zack and the secondary characters are also well developed and with realistic dialogue. There is insight into behind the scenes of show business, picking scripts and casting and I believe that the author, Maggie Carpenter, must of had exposure to the movie and television business.
Its a romantic story with some unexpected twists which kept me up all night in order to finish it. There were elements of light BDSM, spanking, panty melting sex, suspense and danger. As I said in the beginning, another winner.
